CASA of Dunklin County
CASA of Dunklin County is seeking to expand recruitment and training of new volunteers and to increase its support of training for current volunteers. CASA volunteers are adults who are appointed by the Juvenile Judge to represent abused and neglected children in the court system. These are children who have been removed from their homes because their parents are unable or unwilling to care for them. CASA seeks funds to train 20-30 additional volunteers in the next eighteen months so that more children can be served. We currently serve 40 of the 150 children in court care. Volunteers are required to have in-service training each year. Additional funds would allow us to support training that is offered out of the county, paying part of the expenses for volunteers who participate in quality training opportunities outside Dunklin County.
