Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities
Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities builds simple, decent, affordable homes alongside working low income Quad City families who currently live in inadequate, unsafe and unaffordable housing. Families earn Habitat homes by working at least 250 hours of sweat equity and then purchasing these homes with a down payment and a no-interest mortgage, that the family is responsible for paying. Habitat for Humanity is truly a hand up, not a hand out. Habitat helps prepare families for success as we require classes in budgeting, home maintenance, credit, and conflict resolution. Our program can actually break the cycle of generational poverty, which would change the lives of a partner family and their children, forever.
