Food For Thought - Denver
It's a fact, hungry children feel miserable. and have trouble focusing, getting along and coping in the classroom! Food For Thought provides food PowerSacks to low-income children in Denver Public Schools to help bridge the hunger gap many children experience over the weekend. Each PowerSack provides 2 meals plus snacks for a family of four to ensure that students have adequate nutrition over the weekends and can come to school ready to learn and grow. Food For Thought currently serves every child at seven DPS schools. A $25K grant would provide over 50,000 meals! Our program is a 100% volunteer effort so 100% of the grant will be used to buy food for the children we serve. Please vote for Food For Thought!
